Whitecross Estate is one of the original Peabody Trust estates, in the London Borough of Islington. Livingston Eyre Associates masterplanned the rehabilitation of this 19th century social housing estate, and the plan has been being implemented over the last twelve years, in a number of phases.

The environmental improvements involve detailed tenant consultation, and include the redesign of the courtyards, with new paving, front gardens, controlled car- parking, pedestrian footpaths, new roads, improved lighting and new refuse stores together with extensive new planting. The results have dramatically transformed the estate, enhancing its traditional Victorian character, and giving the completed courtyards a new sense of home enjoyed by the residents.
