The South Western Hospital is built on the site of a former Victorian fever hospital in Lambeth. The new hospital comprises of a landscaped campus for community mental health within the area. The scheme provides a headquarters for the Trust, an eductaion centre, 44 acute beds, a haven care unit for 20, an intensive therapy unit and oupaitients department.

The overall landscape masterplan of the scheme aims to rationalise the circulation and introduce soft landscape to create carefully articulated zones within the site.

Together with the overall masterplanning strategy two courtyards create a welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. This also goes some way to humanising the site and creating a therapeutic environment for all concerned.
