The existing school and grounds were built in the 1960's. At present the Nursery, Infants and Juniors are on two sites. The refurbishment proposals aim to consolidate all pupils onto the main site providing a more simulating environment for outdoor play whilst reducing unused spaces.

The Junior play area will remain in its existing location. At present a series of walls means that much of the area is inaccessible. The existing walls will be removed and a new play area and classroom gardens will be created with seating walls and planting.

A new retaining wall in the Infant play area will enable the existing sloping area of grass to be level. This makes this area a usable part of the playground. Two colourful nest-like dens will be formed under the two existing ash trees in rubber safety surfacing.

The relocated Nursery and foundation play areas are separated from both Infant and Junior playgrounds. The recently installed shade sails and soft surface will be retained and seats suitable for the nursery age group will be added beneath. The new tree in the foundation courtyard will provide shade and also have a timber deck beneath which can be used for seating or as a play table.
